AUTO GLASS REPLACEMENT & REPAIR PROVO
If you've been in a collision and need auto body repair work done, you may need a lot of help getting your car back in shape, but sometimes things aren't so drastic. If have a rock chip in your windshield or other windows in your car, there is a good chance you can get it repaired in only a few minutes and for much less than it would cost you to have your entire windshield replaced. Rock chip repairs use a clear resin that fuses with the glass your windshield is made of and fixes the structural vulnerability created by the crack, saving your windshield from further damage. Although in most cases you will still be able to see the rock chip after your windshield is repaired, often times the repair will look much better than it did before you brought it in, and the cost savings to you may be worth it depending on your tastes.
That being said, there are a few things you need to be aware of if you have a rock chip in your windshield. If your chip is in the "critical area" of your windshield, meaning the area in the direct line of sight of the driver, there is a much higher chance that you will need to have your windshield replaced, rather than repaired, for both safety and insurance purposes. In some instances windshields will not be able to be repaired because of structural problems caused by the crack, especially in cases where the crack has splintered or spider-webbed.
In those cases where you prefer to have your windshield replaced so you can get a brand new look to your car, we are happy to help you and will do everything in our power to make it a hassle free process for your. Our technicians are expertly trained and will give you all the information you need - up front - advising you on whether having your auto glass repaired or replaced will work best for your aesthetic tastes and financial situation.
If your windshield has a chip that is larger than two inches across, a crack larger than a foot, or has spider-webbed, we usually recommend a full windshield replacement for safety purposes. Despite repair efforts, cracks of this nature will almost certainly remain a problem and a safety concern for you as you drive your vehicle. If your car does need a windshield replacement, you can usually have it done and be on your way in around 30-60 minutes. We recommend waiting an additional 60 minutes before you travel at high speeds so your windshield can properly bond and the adhesives can settle, but you'll be back on the road in no time.
